APCICT strengthens capacities of government officials of the Royal Government of Bhutan on ICT, Climate Change and Green Growth
The workshop was attended by civil servants from the National Environment Commission (NEC) as well as ICT and telecom organizations. The training focused on the Centre’s Academy Module 10 (ICT, Climate Change and Green Growth).
The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development launched a revamped version of its distance learning platform, APCICT Virtual Academy – http://e-learning.unapcict.org, on 16 October 2017.
The APCICT Virtual Academy, an online distance learning platform launched in June 2009, is part of APCICT’s multi-channel delivery strategy to expand the reach of its flagship ICT for development (ICTD) capacity building programmes.

APCICT strengthens the capacities of Myanmar’s government leaders on utilizing ICT for sustainable development
The week-long workshop is part of an 8-week Executive Officials Management Course conducted annually by UCSB for the country’s senior government officials, in partnership with UNDP, World Bank, European Union, and APCICT/ESCAP. It is based on the Centre’s Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders, a flagship training programme that aims to enhance awareness and skills of civil servants on leveraging ICT for sustainable development.

UN-APCICT raises awareness on leveraging ICT for sustainable development to institutions of higher education for youth in Kyrgyzstan
The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (APCICT), in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science, of Kyrgyz Republic, Central Asian Research and Education Network (CAREN), and Kyrgyz State Technical University, co-organized the High Level Briefing on the Primer Series on ICTD for Youth on 28 April 2017.
The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development, in partnership with the Academy of Public Administration under President of Kyrgyz Republic (APAPKR), and Central Asian Research and Education Network (CAREN) co-organized the CIS Sub-Regional Workshop and the Kyrgyzstan National Launch of Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) on 24-27 April 2017 at the Academy of Public Administration in Bishkek.
A Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) pre-launch event was held in Dhaka on 15 March 2017 under the leadership of the ICT Division and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and in cooperation with Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) and Bangladesh Women in Technology (BWIT).
Attended by more than 250 participants from government, development organizations, women entrepreneur associations, private sector, and academia, the event elaborated on the WIFI programme and its relevance to Digital Bangladesh, the country’s national ICT strategy.
