Training on Female Entrepreneurs and the Application of Digital Skills in Business (CWE)

On April 27, 2023, the  Agency for Enterprise Development (AED) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Viet Nam, in collaboration with the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development (APCICT-ESCAP), the Vietnam Women's Union, and the Vietnam Women Entrepreneurs Council, organized a training course called "Women Entrepreneurs and the Application of Digital Skills in Business" as part of the ESCAP project " Catalyzing Women’s Entrepreneurship: Creating a Gender-Responsive Entrepreneurial Ecosystem (CWE). The program is funded by the Global Affairs Canada.

Training on E-Commerce and Digital Marketing for Women Entrepreneurs (Maldives)

To celebrate the International Women’s Day, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology together with the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services of the Republic of Maldives and APCICT will be organizing the Training on E-Commerce and Digital Marketing for Women Entrepreneurs in Male, Maldives from 8 to 9 March 2023.

Virtual Training of Trainers on Women ICT Frontier Initiative in Armenia

In partnership with the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia, the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development (APCICT/ESCAP) held a Virtual Training of Trainers on Women ICT Frontier Initiative in Armenia on 28-31 March 2022.

This virtual training follows the Centre's continuous efforts in strengthening women entrepreneurship, following the National Launch of the “Women ICT Frontier Initiative” (WIFI) programme and subsequent Training of Trainers in Armenia (2017). 

Workshop on Digital Skills on Financial Management and Access to Finance for Women Entrepreneurs in Bangladesh

In an effort to strengthen the capacity of women entrepreneurs in Bangladesh in using digital technologies in their businesses, the Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) organized a 5-day virtual training on Digital Skills on Financial Management and Access to Finance for Women Entrepreneurs, from 22 to 27 May 2021.

Community workshops on ICT tools for Financial Management for Women Entrepreneurs in Savaii, Samoa

In an effort to strengthen the capacities of women entrepreneurs to use ICT applications in support of financial decision making and business growth, Samoa Business Hub (SBH) organized a series of community-level trainings in Savaii, from 6 to 16 April 2021, under the “ICT Accelerate” project. 

Training of Trainers on E-Commerce Application for Women Entrepreneurs and Women-Owned Small Businesses in Viet Nam

The E-Commerce Development Centre (EDC), Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam and APCICT/ESCAP organized a Training of Trainers on E-Commerce Application for Women Entrepreneurs and Women-Owned Small Businesses in Viet Nam from 18 to 23 December 2020 in Hanoi. The training aims to enhance the business knowledge and practical skills of trainers in the areas of e-commerce, digital marketing and communication, as well as cross-border e-commerce.   

Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) Workshops for Women Entrepreneurs of Cambodia

Following the National Launch of Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) in Cambodia, the Secretariat of One Village One Product and APCICT conducted series of training workshop from 31 August – 14 December 2018 across 5 provinces (Kampot, Sihanouk Ville, Kampong Cham, Siem Reap, and Battambang) of Cambodia. Attended by 195 local women entrepreneurs, women entrepreneur associations, and students, the training aimed to strengthen their skills and knowledge in utilizing ICT in planning and managing business.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Information and Communications Technologies - A Practical Guide

The promotion of micro and small-scale enterprises (MSEs) has been recognized as an important strategy for advancing the economic empowerment of women while reducing poverty and gender inequality. Women entrepreneurs are offered new opportunities by ICTs to start and grow businesses. Through new as well as traditional forms of ICTs, women entrepreneurs are reaching out to customers, becoming more efficient and building businesses in ways they could not do before.

Accelerating Women Entrepreneurship - A Roadmap for Bangalore

This study is part of a strategic initiative titled, ‘Accelerating Women Entrepreneurship: A Roadmap to 2020’.

It was conducted to gain an overview of the current state of the entrepreneurial environment for women entrepreneurs and to provide a course of action. The objectives are:

 - to identify major challenges being faced by women entrepreneurs in starting and expanding their business
