Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) Workshops for Women Entrepreneurs of Cambodia

Following the National Launch of Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) in Cambodia, the Secretariat of One Village One Product and APCICT conducted series of training workshop from 31 August – 14 December 2018 across 5 provinces (Kampot, Sihanouk Ville, Kampong Cham, Siem Reap, and Battambang) of Cambodia. Attended by 195 local women entrepreneurs, women entrepreneur associations, and students, the training aimed to strengthen their skills and knowledge in utilizing ICT in planning and managing business.

Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Information and Communications Technologies - A Practical Guide

The promotion of micro and small-scale enterprises (MSEs) has been recognized as an important strategy for advancing the economic empowerment of women while reducing poverty and gender inequality. Women entrepreneurs are offered new opportunities by ICTs to start and grow businesses. Through new as well as traditional forms of ICTs, women entrepreneurs are reaching out to customers, becoming more efficient and building businesses in ways they could not do before.

Accelerating Women Entrepreneurship - A Roadmap for Bangalore

This study is part of a strategic initiative titled, ‘Accelerating Women Entrepreneurship: A Roadmap to 2020’.

It was conducted to gain an overview of the current state of the entrepreneurial environment for women entrepreneurs and to provide a course of action. The objectives are:

 - to evaluate the ecosystem for women entrepreneurs

 - to identify major challenges being faced by women entrepreneurs in starting and expanding their business

This guidebook was developed by the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in partnership with the Asia Pacific Women’s Information Network Center (APWINC) as part of one of many activities of the ESCAP project entitled “Establishment of Sustainable e-Business and Network for Green Cooperative Enterprises for Women in Rural Communities”, which was funded by the Government of the Republic of Korea.

Investing in the Power of Women - Progress Report on the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Initiative

In mid-2013, Babson College, in partnership with the Goldman Sachs Foundation, conducted the first ever analysis of the data that had been systematically gathered across cohorts and countries over the course of the initiative’s first four years. This report presents the initial results of that analysis, looking at the impact of providing a business education, access to mentors and networking support to women entrepreneurs across a broad range of emerging market contexts.

Enabling Entrepreneurship for Women’s Economic Empowerment in Asia and the Pacific

Recognizing the potential of, and the challenges for, women’s entrepreneurship across the Asia-Pacific region, the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women launched a joint programme to promote enabling policy and legal environments for women’s entrepreneurship in four countries in Asia and the Pacific: China, India, Indonesia and Malaysia. The programme involved partnerships with leading national research institutions in each of the four countries.
