Training on E-Commerce and Digital Marketing for Women Entrepreneurs (Maldives)

To celebrate the International Women’s Day, the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology together with the Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services of the Republic of Maldives and APCICT will be organizing the Training on E-Commerce and Digital Marketing for Women Entrepreneurs in Male, Maldives from 8 to 9 March 2023.

Virtual Training of Trainers on Women ICT Frontier Initiative in Armenia

In partnership with the Public Administration Academy of the Republic of Armenia, the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development (APCICT/ESCAP) held a Virtual Training of Trainers on Women ICT Frontier Initiative in Armenia on 28-31 March 2022.

This virtual training follows the Centre's continuous efforts in strengthening women entrepreneurship, following the National Launch of the “Women ICT Frontier Initiative” (WIFI) programme and subsequent Training of Trainers in Armenia (2017). 

WIFI Women Entrepreneurs Module 2 on "Managing a Business Using ICT" in Thai

This module is a sequel to Module W1: Planning a Business Using ICT. The primary objective of this module is to introduce existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs to the set up and management of a business, and the ways in which Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can help in the process. The module provides fundamental business management concepts, analytical tools and ICT applications for setting up and running a business. This module is aimed at women who are ICT literate, are using ICTs only for basic tasks (e.g.

WIFI Women Entrepreneurs Module 1 on "Planning a Business Using ICT" in Thai

The primary objective of this module is to introduce existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs to business planning, and to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools for business planning. The module provides fundamental business planning concepts, analytical tools and ICT applications for business planning. This module is aimed at women who are ICT literate, are using ICTs only for basic tasks (e.g. making calls, text messaging, e-mail), and are interested in using ICTs for more advanced business functions (e.g. online marketing and selling).

WIFI Core Module 2 on "Enabling Role of ICT for Women Entrepreneurs" in Thai

The primary objective of this module is to introduce the key concepts of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs. It also focuses on the global and regional status of women entrepreneurs, entrepreneurship’s relations to women’s empowerment, the barriers and enablers faced by women entrepreneurs, and the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in women’s entrepreneurship.

The primary objective of this module is to introduce the key concepts of Empowerment; Women’s empowerment, and its barriers and enablers in present times; Information and communication technology (ICT), and its challenges and opportunities in promoting women’s empowerment; and the Sustainable Development Goals related to achieving women’s empowerment.

APCICT celebrates the Girls in ICT Day by imparting digital skills to girls and young women in Thailand

As part of the 2021 Girls in ICT Day celebration in Thailand, APCICT/ESCAP conducted trainings based on its Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) programme under the Entrepreneurship Track, with the objective of enhancing the knowledge, skills and abilities of young women and girls in using ICT tools and applications to support e-commerce startup and management.

As part of the 2020 Girls in ICT Day celebration in Thailand, APCICT conducted a training based on its Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) programme under the Smart Farming Track to enhance digital skills of young women and girls in agriculture.  The virtual training aims to increase knowledge on the opportunities that digital technologies offer in catalyzing women’s entrepreneurship as well as to introduce emerging ICT tools and applications.

Girls in ICT_Smart Farming

As part of the 2020 Girls in ICT Day celebration in Thailand, APCICT conducted a training based on its Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) programme under the Smart Farming Track to enhance digital skills of young women and girls in agriculture.  The virtual training aims to increase knowledge on the opportunities that digital technologies offer in catalyzing women’s entrepreneurship as well as to introduce emerging ICT tools and applications. 

The Smart Farming Track was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), National Broadcasting and Telecommunications (NBTC), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), DTAC, and the Research Center of Communication and Development Knowledge Management (CCDKM). The e-Training was attended by a total of 70 female participants.
