National Partner organizes Internet Governance and Information Security training in Bhutan

The Royal Institute of Management delivers Academy training for government officials and private sector IT managers

On 16 November, the Royal Institute of Management (RIM) organized a capacity building workshop in Thimphu, Bhutan utilizing two modules from APCICT's flagship programme the "Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders" (Academy).  Sixteen participants from government and the private sector received training from national resource persons on Academy modules 5 – Internet Governance, and 6 – Information Security and Privacy.  

APCICT and the Maldives National University organize workshops to strengthen the ICT capacity for youth and government officials

Over 60 government officials, academics and development stakeholders in the Maldives take part in trainings on using ICT for youth development, disaster risk management and climate change abatement.

On 26-29 March 2012, APCICT and the Maldives National University organized two ICT capacity development workshops. Thirty-one professors and university faculty participated in a Primer Series training of trainers workshop on how to deliver ICTD education to youth. The workshop was delivered by Primer Series author, Dr. Usha Reddi.

United Nations partners with Indonesia to strengthen ICT capacity of youth and government officials

Depok, Indonesia (UN-APCICT/ESCAP) – Working to bridge the digital divide, over 50 professors and trainers from universities across Indonesia and 60 government officials from various ministries are taking part in ICT capacity development workshops based on United Nations programmes.

On 28 May, APCICT's Academy partner in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Computer council (BCC) organized a workshop on “Climate Change, Carbon Trading and Information-Communication Technology” in partnership with the Department of Environment and Climate Change Cell of Bangladesh. 

UN and the Philippines expand capacity building programme to leverage ICT for national development

Over 150 senior government officials and representatives of academia join APCICT and NCI for meeting on information and communication technology (ICT) capacity development in the Philippines.

The United Nations Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN-APCICT/ESCAP), has partnered with the National Computer Institute (NCI) to launch training programme to help strengthen the capacity to use ICT for socio-economic development in the Philippines.
