It aims to present the Korean Governance model upon open government data initiatives, including specific policies and legislations that provide solid foundation for data openness. The paper also offers a comprehensive overview of the Republic of Korea’s open data reuse cases for public value co-creation, encompassing almost all areas of life such as environment, health, security, education, finance, and thus most of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations. After briefly discussing the 2018 OECD Report on monitoring and evaluation of OGD, the paper will finally conclude with Open Data Charter’s recommendations for all governments aspiring to adopt a sound OGD governance model with constructive open data initiative
