On December 8-9, UN-APCICT will conduct an e-government workshop in Islamabad, Pakistan for 56 government officers and 40 mid-level provincial government officials to support the “Pakistan Vision 2025” development blueprint launched in August 2014, which aims to strengthen e-education, e-commerce, e-health and e-government in the country. 08-12-2014 On December 8-9, UN-APCICT will conduct an e-government workshop in Islamabad, Pakistan for 56 government officers and 40 mid-level provincial government officials. Co-organized with the Nation Centre for Rural Development, the Secretariat Training Institute and the organization Pakistan Institute of ICT for Development, the workshop marks the first step in institutionalizing UN-APCICT’s human capacity building programme ‘Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders’ in Pakistan’s civil service induction training. Through the workshop, UN-APCICT will contribute to the “Pakistan Vision 2025” development blueprint launched in August 2014. The plan calls for the strengthening of e-education, e-commerce, e-health and e-government, and the improvement of governance in the country. It recognizes enhancing human and institutional capacity for using ICTs as a crucial component for the realization of this vision. In that regard, UN-APCICT’s flagship programmes will play an important role in supporting the development of the necessary human and institutional capacities to achieve the goals of the initiative.
