The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN-APCICT) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly organized a Round Table on ‘Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders Programme’ on 25 May 2016 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The event was held during the Global Conference on “A Professional Civil Service for the Successful Implementation of Institutional Reforms” organized by UN-APCICT and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on 25 May, in conjunction with the Astana Economic Forum taking place on 16-28 May 2016.
The Academy Round Table aimed to provide a briefing on APCICT’s programme on ICT human capacity development, its impact and how it had been utilized and institutionalized in the CIS region. The Centre’s national Academy partners from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia and Tajikistan presented on implementation strategies and share their experiences as panelists.
The Round Table was attended by 80 representatives of state agencies, faculty, research fellows, and PhD students of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
About the ‘Academy of ICT Essential for Government Leaders’
The Academy is flagship ICTD human capacity development programme of APCICT for policymakers and government officials. The 11-module Academy curriculum available in 16 languages aims to build the capacity of civil servants to leverage ICT to achieve national development goals.
