Over 20 participants from eight South Asian countries – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – representing national ICT ministries and ICT training institutions were trained on: Module 1 - The Linkage between ICT Applications and Development; Module 2 - ICT for Development Policy, Process and Governance; and Module 3 - e-Government Applications. Presentations, handouts and exercises from this workshop are available for download.
To obtain feedback for the draft manuscripts of the Academy training modules, APCICT organized three sub-regional workshops (South Asia, Western and Central Asia and South East Asia) with national training institutions and policy-makers in the month of April and May 2008. Each of the sub-regional workshops were specifically designed to maximize feedback from participants on the usefulness and relevance of the thematic content material and also the appropriate training methodology. The sub-regional workshops were designed and delivered between four to six days with 2-3 modules being presented at each of the sub-regional workshop.
The final manuscript of the Academy training modules will be available on the APCICT Virtual Academy during the fourth quarter of 2008.
