Barriers to Utilizing ICT for Educational Purposes in Jordan

This study explores the barriers to utilizing information and communication technologies for teaching and learning in Jordan as seen by the different involve d stakeholders: students, teachers, and administrators. The paper investigates these barriers through an interpretative case study which is the Jordanian Education Initiative (JEI) and uses the technology-to-performance chain model (TPC) as a conceptual research framework.

Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders for the Arab Region

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) launched the Academy of ICT Essentials for Government Leaders in the ESCWA Region (AIGLE)on 8 June 2015 in Beirut, Lebanon.

APCICT participated in the launch via online conference call and shared the Centre’s experience in institutionalizing its ICT human capacity development programmes. Following the AIGLE launch, ESCWA conducted a 5-day Regional Training-of-Trainers with AIGLE.
