FUNCTIONS
APCICT has such functions as :
enhancing knowledge and skills in ICT for policy-makers, ICT professionals and ICT project managers.
enhancing the capacity of ICT trainers and ICT training institutions by providing training-of-trainers programs and exchange of trainers and experts.
providing advisory services on human resources development programs to member and associate members.
undertaking analytical studies related to human resources development in ICT, including identifying training needs and sharing best practices on human resources development program and training methods.

APCICT in Brief  

The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology (APCICT) is a subsidiary body of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), established with a membership identical to that of the ESCAP and is located in Incheon, Republic of Korea.

The Statute of the Centre was adopted in 18 May 2005 pursuant to the resolution number 61/6 of the Commission, as the basis of its operation. The Headquarters Agreement and the Agreement on Administrative and Financial Arrangements that accord the Centre status of a United Nations institution with the applicable immunities and privileges were formally signed by ESCAP and the Government of the Republic of Korea on 31 January 2006.
